ZeroLight, providers of the world's most advanced real-time visualisation platform for the automotive industry, was recognised as the most disruptive technology business at the prestigious UK Business Awards. Taking place on 11th November at the Park Plaza Riverbank, London, the ceremony attracted some of the largest names from across multiple industries to recognise outstanding corporate achievements.
The visualisation sector has seen rapid growth with the emergence of new hardware, providing alternative vectors for customer engagement. ZeroLight is at the forefront of the industry, powering the most exciting and innovative projects with its premium real-time visualisation technology. Such projects have been recognised by critics and industry peers alike, delivering engaging experiences that pioneer modern consumer-centric retail models online and in dealerships.
Examples of implementation include Audi City stores, the Audi Walking VR Experience, Audi's real-time online cloud configurator, Pagani's digital dealership and VIP VR experiences, the Toyota C-HR VR Experience and Aygo Drum configurator.
Each case study drives customer engagement at a different stage of the customer journey, delivering unique and compelling brand experiences that drive affinity and facilitate sales.
The awards are judged based on both a written application and a presentation, culminating at the awards ceremony. The written submission is used to decide the shortlist of finalists in each category, and is then provided to the awards judges during the final to independently assess and combine with their scores of the presentation to deliver a total. Both the written application and the presentation have an equal 50% weighting on the final score. The criteria judged was the case for recognition, business rationale, output, insight, innovation and implementation. The scoring methodology and criteria is endorsed by the Cranfield School of Management.
"Victory in the UK Business Awards secures ZeroLight's position as one of the most exciting technology companies in the country" said Jason Collins, Marketing Director at ZeroLight. "Alongside winners from other categories, including Virgin Money, Aldi, O2 & Barclays, we're proving that the UK is home to some amazing companies that shine both on the national and international stage."
Jason received the award on behalf of ZeroLight from Malcolm McDonald, Emeritus Professor at Cranfield School of Management and Visiting Professor at Henley, Warwick, Aston & Bradford Business Schools.
The recognition for ZeroLight's disruptive approach comes alongside a suite of acclaim throughout the year from regional, national and international bodies across a number of sectors. 2016 has seen ZeroLight acknowledged for innovation in cloud technology at the International Business Awards, Techies Awards and Dynamites Awards; labelled a Top 10 UK start up, Top 100 EU Tech Company and a finalist in the FT boldness in business awards. Earlier this year, GP Bullhound, one of Europe's leading technology investment banks, labelled ZeroLight as a company with the potential to become a $1bn business.
How ZeroLight Disrupts the market
Success within the category came from recognising ZeroLight's key differentiators:
Real-Time
ZeroLight provides sophisticated real-time 3D experiences that allow users to fully interact with and explore a highly detailed digital model of a car, selecting from any option or configuration available. Such an offer is a step change from the traditional 2D method typically adopted by the industry that is built of a bank of 2D images, delivering fixed angles and pre-selected configurations.
Visual Quality
Proprietary rendering techniques mean that the 3D models created are graphically stunning, delivering the highest real-time visual quality on the market. Vehicles in ZeroLight are comprised of millions of polygons with highly advanced lighting and textures, resulting in a compelling representation that's fully interactive and can be experienced in unique ways across multiple inputs.
Omnichannel
ZeroLight delivers the same high-quality asset and experience to any display device, offering a seamless and consistent proposition across all touch points. The creation of this process is entirely automated, driving huge efficiencies for OEM's & brands whilst delivering cutting edge experiences with lower lead times. Such efficiencies lower the barriers to entry for deployment, allowing automotive brands to deliver world-leading solutions that drive competitive advantage through consumer engagement.
The combination of an automated omnichannel pipeline, market leading graphical quality and expertise with real-time 3D development has set ZeroLight apart as a pioneer within the visualisation sector. The translation of such benefits when implemented by its partners has empowered a new approach to retail, amplifying the capabilities of brands to adapt to changing consumer behaviour and sculpt bespoke deployments of the modern consumer-centric retail model.
