We have recently celebrated ZeroLight’s 10 year anniversary, which luckily coincided with our quarterly collaboration week in June, so it was a perfect opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the past 10 years.
ZeroLight was established back in 2014 spinning out of sister company Eutechnyx, a racing game specialist. We had the expertise in creating photo realistic cars and an opportunity came along to apply this outside of games. Ten years later we’ve worked with some of the biggest brands in the automotive and tech worlds, and we have 69 employees, with 24 having been here from the very beginning.
The Talent Team work hard on the logistics for all of our quarterly collaboration weeks, working closely with Executive Directors to put together a schedule of engaging workshops, whilst also handling logistics around the studio, and bringing our remote staff up to Newcastle. With our theme of 10 years, we decorated the studio, and created a very special photo slideshow, to be displayed on screens around the studio showcasing 10 years of ZeroLight events & socials.
Most importantly, we wanted to hear from the employees, to understand what ZeroLight means to them. So, we reached out to everyone and asked for their favourite ZeroLight memories.
Everyone knows when you first start at ZeroLight, walking into the Terrace and seeing the chocolate drawer and the range of snacks on the Terrace is quite a magnificent sight! Something I often tell friends about when they discuss their workplaces, who don’t even offer free tea bags - this was only enhanced when my husband had to see for himself and popped in when in Newcastle! It shows the most incredible company values that we not only have loads of chocolate, we are somewhere where work and family meet and we find ourselves telling others about how great our workplace is.

I joined ZeroLight from an automotive manufacturing company where I had been for about 9 years. It's difficult to get excited about a new launch when it's a new type of exhaust which is only very slightly different to the last 300,000 exhausts you've seen being made that year.
About 6 months into my time at ZeroLight, our Lucid Air configurator went live as a key part of their global reveal. Watching that launch event and seeing the reaction and feedback in real time was an awesome experience and I knew I'd made a great decision and had joined a really cool company with some very talented people.

My favourite memory was the family and friends open day, which was back in the summer of 2017. The ZeroLight family were invited for an office open day. We experienced using the VR headsets and playing with some of the other tech. We were treated to a delicious hog roast. There was face painting, games and plenty of fun for everyone. My children particularly enjoyed the ZL balloons!

It has been a privilege to coach a lot of ZeroLight employees over my relatively short time here.
The intelligence, kindness and passion we have here is to be admired and I am honoured to be able to help such talented individuals achieve their career goals.
Charlotte Pascoe, People Manager
At the end of the week we held a special presentation, hearing memories from some of the employees who had been at ZeroLight from day one.
As always, we ended our collaboration week with a social event to celebrate the great work in that quarter, and on this occasion, the amazing work over the last 10 years. This was held on the terrace area at the lovely Barluga, which was an amazing space, and the weather was sunny (but very windy). All of our staff enjoyed a BBQ buffet, and plenty of delicious cocktails in the sunshine.
