ZeroLight moves headquarters to multi million pound Live Works development on Newcastle Quayside

Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK, 17th August 2016 - Visualisation specialists ZeroLight have announced they will move their headquarters to the newly built Live Works building on Newcastle's iconic Quayside, becoming the exclusive occupants of the premium office development.

The take-over of all four floors of the building will provide the space and facilities to accommodate growing demand for the company's automotive visualisation solutions, which are used by Audi AG, Pagani Automobili and several unannounced clients set to be revealed later this year.

The relocation, which adds ZeroLight's digital creativity to the "Creative Quarter" growing around the Live Theatre, will allow the company to continue serving current employees whilst attracting and nurturing future personnel with their industry recognised internship and graduate scheme. The move comes as part of the growth strategy which will see the company continue to bring together and develop world class creative and technology talent at their base in the North East of England.

COO Arwen Duddington said, "Moving to Live Works allows us to continue building our talented team and to inspire them with a world-class working environment. The building is a unique opportunity for ZeroLight that combines location, quality and amenities in one state-of-the-art office space."

As well as high-grade working spaces for each of the company's staff, ZeroLight has designed a purpose-built layout that includes team working spaces, flexible hot desking and meeting areas and a staff breakout room together with dedicated innovation and demo areas. The company has enlisted the expertise of award winning interior designer Simon Mcilwraith of Collective Design to create a modern, creative feel for the building.

"Moving our headquarters to the premium Live Works location on Newcastle's iconic quayside is an investment in our future", said Darren Jobling, CEO. "The modern interior, prestigious location and world-class facilities provide the perfect setting for our continued growth as the world's leading real-time 3D visualisation solution. We're delighted to be moving to a new home that reflects our position as an employer of choice and embodies our values of quality, collaboration and innovative thinking."

The new NE1 location boasts three terraces and floor-to-ceiling windows with unrivalled views overlooking Newcastle and Gateshead quaysides, the Tyne and Gateshead Millennium Bridges, Sage Gateshead and Baltic to the south and to the north the views include the newly developed Live Garden public space and a series of historic Almshouses which have been recently restored by Live Theatre.

Located at 55-57 Quayside, Live Works has been developed by Live Theatre and designed by architects Flanagan Lawrence. The building is a finalist in the New and Old category of the World Architecture Festival 2016 of which the winners will be announced in November.

Jim Beirne, Chief Executive, Live Theatre, said: "We are delighted to welcome ZeroLight to Live Works and as a neighbour of Live Theatre. As a dynamic and creative business we are sure that they will be a welcome addition to the creative quarter Live Theatre has been creating on Newcastle's Quayside and welcome them to enjoy the beautifully designed and well positioned office space that Live Works offers."

Paul Callaghan, Chair, Live Theatre said: "We are delighted to welcome ZeroLight to the Live Works building, their enthusiasm and appreciation for their new high spec office space, and location on Newcastle Quayside. This wonderful project is not just significant for Live Theatre but also for the area as a whole. We are very proud that we have been able to transform the space into something so special that will be appreciated not just by us, but by ZeroLight's talented team and clients as well."

The quayside office development sits alongside existing commercial property also acquired by Live Theatre and the whole is designed to create new revenue streams for Live Theatre from rental income to enable Live Theatre to extend its work. Live Works is set within Live Garden a new garden and outdoor performance area linking the theatre with the Quayside.

The £10.5m entire project cost is supported by a £2.1 million grant from the North East European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Programme 2007 to 2013, a loan from Newcastle City Council and grants from Arts Council England, the Catherine Cookson Charitable Trust, the Gillian Dickinson Trust, The Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation, The Sir James Knott Trust, The Monument Trust, Investment and Contract Readiness Fund and the Wolfson Foundation.
