March Collaboration Week 2026

At ZeroLight, our quarterly Collaboration Weeks are more than just a break from "business as usual", they are the heartbeat of our culture, fostering creativity and innovation throughout the company. Following the success of our previous sessions in 2025, we kicked off our March 2026 Collaboration Week with a great schedule designed to bridge the gap between our remote and in-office teams, refine our internal processes, and look ahead at what’s next.

Here is a look at what we got up to….

Day 1: Alignment and Resource Management

The week began with our traditional Company Breakfast & Update hosted by our CEO, Darren. These sessions are vital for keeping everyone aligned on the company’s trajectory.

As we continue to embrace a hybrid work model, the morning sessions also focused on the practicalities of collaboration. Erin (Executive Director - Operations & People), held a session on Supporting Remote Workers, which sparked great conversations on how we can further improve communication across different working environments. We gained some valuable insights into what it is like to work fully remotely, and how we can look to help those that do.

Another impactful session was The Balancing Act, led by our Project Managers, Mhairi and Annie. This deep dive into workload estimation and resource capacity is crucial as we scale, ensuring that our sprint deadlines remain achievable and our team’s well-being is prioritised.

Day 2: Strategic Deep Dives

Wednesday was all about looking under the hood of our specific team outputs. We started with a client update & retro, allowing our CDO, Dave, to gain input and feedback from the team.

The afternoon focused on growth and product utility. After a Growth Team Update, we hosted an internal product roundtable. This was a fascinating session where internal power users shared how they are using our products, what content they are generating, and what features are currently trending within the team. This feedback loop is essential for our product development, as our own team members are often our most rigorous critics!

Day 3: Skills, Retro, and Socialising

The final day of the week focused on personal development and future planning. Darren’s Communication Skills workshop, fittingly described as a "participation sport", got everyone on their feet practicing techniques to make their presentations more engaging and memorable. Participants read famous speeches, including the balcony scene from Romeo & Juliet, to look at how pitch, intonation and volume improved their delivery.

While the Product team spent 90 minutes in a comprehensive Retro and Future Look-ahead, the rest of the company gathered for a session on our work within new verticals and industries led by Chris, our Chief Innovation Officer. As we lead the way in automotive visualisation, exploring how our tech can be applied to new industries is one of the most exciting aspects of our current roadmap.

Of course, it wouldn't be a ZeroLight Collaboration Week without a social finale. After a week of  workshops and strategic planning, the team headed out on Thursday afternoon for a trip to Flight Club. It was the perfect way to unwind, celebrate our wins from the past quarter, and build the personal connections that make our professional collaboration so successful.

In a true "newcomer's luck" story (or perhaps just hidden talent), our newest employee, Daniel, at his first company event, managed to beat out 31 others to take home the coveted darts trophy in a gripping finale.

As we head back into our regular day to day, we do so with clearer goals, better processes, and a stronger sense of team unity. We’re already looking forward to the next one!
