ZeroLight, the creator of the world's most advanced digital 3D car configurator, has recruited technology industry specialist François de Bodinat as Chief Marketing Officer. The appointment comes during a period of sustained business growth for the company, which was announced earlier this year as a visualisation partner to Audi AG and the developer of a bespoke digital car configurator for Italian supercar manufacturer, Pagani.
Previously heading European agency marketing development for Amazon Media Group, de Bodinat has significant experience in the field of real-time 3D visualisation technology. As Business Development Director at Realtime Technology AG (RTT)* for three years from 2009, he was responsible for handling key accounts across the automotive and aerospace industries; prior to this, he held senior product and business development roles for 8 years at Dassault Systèmes, which is acknowledged as a world leader in 3D experience and CAD/CAM systems.
"ZeroLight's proprietary 3D visualisation technology, which brings astonishingly high levels of real-time graphical fidelity in a truly immersive retail and online experience, will change the way in which we buy new cars," said de Bodinat. "I am fortunate to have joined the company at a time when market interest in ZeroLight's omnichannel solution is already growing at a rapid rate," he continued. "My focus will be on further realising the significant opportunities that exist to help re-shape the automotive shopper journey from an old dealership based model to a modern and engaging digital experience".
François de Bodinat's experience in business development and product management for the technology and software industries is underpinned by an M.Sc in 3D software engineering and an MBA from the renowned INSEAD business school. He was also co-founder and for three years, CEO, of ecommerce gifting platform, Givted, and this additional flair for entrepreneurship made him even more attractive to ZeroLight.
"François is exactly the right person to take up the new role of Chief Marketing Officer and joins at the perfect time," explained ZeroLight CEO, Darren Jobling. "As more and more vehicle manufacturers become aware of ZeroLight's 3D visualisation technology and the potential it offers, he has the depth of experience to accelerate the commercialisation process in traditional automotive retail channels as well as the vision to push back the boundaries and move into new areas."
Jobling concluded: "François' career has seen him work in Paris, Tokyo, Los Angeles, New York, London and now I am delighted to welcome him in north east England and an opportunity that we both believe is the most exciting yet."
*Following its acquisition last year by Dassault Systèmes, RTT is now 3DExcite.
