On Friday we said goodbye to our placement student Alex, who has completed a 12-month internship with ZeroLight in his third year of study with Teesside University. Alex will return to University in September for his fourth and final year. He is one of many Teesside BSc Games Programming students to work at ZeroLight. At least 45% of our current staff are graduates of the University, with many starting out as placement students, and we hope to continue this great legacy with a new batch of graduates coming through our brand new student programme in 2016.

Alex spent the majority of his placement working within our Audi Team, where he took on responsibility for a number of tasks including the car loading indicator - utilising shaders and some innovative programming to overcome difficult problems, whilst also supporting the team to produce fully immersive VR solutions using HTC Vive. He was also well known as the most enthusiastic competitor in our table tennis league!

Alex celebrated the completion of his internship with his team mates in the Audi Team on Friday evening, with a meal and drinks around Newcastle. We wish him the best of luck for his final year of study.
