As graduation fast approaches for many students, ZeroLight's Talent Development Team have been attending a range of local events to promote their internship program.
First up was University of Teesside's ExpoTees event which ZeroLight has sponsored for five years running now. It's always a great event that really showcases both student work and the innovative approach of the University itself. The event facilitates networking between 3rd year students and potential employers, with the students exhibiting their final year projects in an informal setting. This year the event was held in its brand-new Campus Heart - The Curve, a £22m teaching and development building on the Middlesbrough campus.
It's great to see how seriously students take this event and the effort they make to present themselves in the most professional manner to prospective employers - from investing in business cards and banners showcasing their projects to developing their own individual pitch, this event crucially allows students to practice their interview skills on their own turf, as well as display their technical proficiency.
In the same week both Erin and Melissa from the team attended Software City's Tech Talent Careers Fair in Sunderland. Open to graduates, students and tech professionals alike, the event was very well attended and the ZeroLight stand - with its VR showcase - was continually popular. It was great to meet so many people who were passionate about working in technology, particularly those who were keen to break into tech from other employment fields.
We've already held interviews and made offers to candidates whom we met at these events so we're pleased the work of ZeroLight is making an impact on the graduate community.
