As a tech company, CES in Las Vegas is the ultimate showcase. Put simply, it's the biggest trade show in the world. Featuring over 3,900 companies and attracting over 170,000 people, CES takes over Vegas in early January commandeering 10 major hotels on the strip as well as the Las Vegas Convention Centre. The show really is the global stage for innovation, showcasing technological advancements in Entertainment, Robotics, Automotive, Sports, Manufacturing and many others.

In 2017 ZeroLight began work on several projects which resulted in 4 events at CES 2018:

Our talented team pulled out all the stops to showcase these 4 outstanding demos at the event. We sent a mammoth 11 members of staff to Vegas to man each individual booth (which were spread over several hotels across the strip), working with our partners to deliver amazing experiences to the CES crowds.

The team, made up of individuals from our Tech, Dev, Marketing & Commercial teams, set off from Newcastle on a cold January morning with everyone in high spirits despite the 5am start. Arriving in a balmy (compared to the UK!) Vegas, they joined our US team mates Chip and Barry for set up and courageously fought off the inevitable jet lag to sample the local night life such as the -5 degrees bar.

Las Vegas was packed with visitor for the show, with every single hotel and conference venue having some element of cool electronics or software on display, it really was a tech playground.

As the show got underway and our demos started up, it became apparent that our team were in for a busy week. The demos were flooded with visitors, from potential clients to interested partners to the tech enthusiast, ZeroLight's quality content and impressive partner brands attracted huge numbers over the week. All the demos were incredibly well received, though the hard work award went to our Associate Marketing Director Joe and Tech Director Chris working the Meta / Ultrahaptics partnership stand, where they had back-to-back meetings and a deluge of visitors each day resulting in Joe collapsing at 7pm every night!

With 11 members of staff working the show, there was a huge amount of teamwork across the demos. Demo team champions Ian and James quickly troubleshooted any technical issues, whilst Senior Motion Graphics Designer Helton and his camera crew caught some amazing footage of the demos in actions and the audience responses.

To top of an amazing week, ZeroLight's partnership with Meta and Ultrahaptics was named Best Innovation at CES by Tom's Guide.

With a final night out visiting the historic Fremont Street in old Vegas, the team came together to celebrate a magnificent achievement for the company. What a way to start 2018!
