Last week saw the ZeroLight team packed up their bags once again, with Chip, Chris, and Barry in San Jose for Oculus Connect 4! While Chip and Barry are already stationed in the US, Chris is based here at our Newcastle HQ, so he had a cool 12-hour journey standing between him and sunny San Jose. Not to worry, though: he's no stranger to a flight or two, having already been over to Seattle and LA in the last year or so.

Touching down in San Fran' on Sunday, Chris had a whole two days before OC4 to explore the most famous tech cluster in the world: Silicon Valley. So, after meeting up on Monday morning, Chris and Barry headed off to the home of the world's tech heavyweights to visit a selection of their most innovative companies. Not a bad way to spend a Monday!

After exploring Silicon Valley, the team joined Chip at their home for the next few nights - the San Jose Hilton - and set about their final preparations for one of the biggest tech shows of the year!

OC4 opens its doors

The Oculus keynote kicked off proceedings, with a certain 3D visualisation company featuring amongst some huge industry names as Oculus VP Hugo Barra introduced Oculus for Business…

We're all so proud to have our work with Audi displayed as a flagship example of Oculus' new workplace VR package!

After the excitement of the keynote, the team turned their attention to prepping the demo. Joining forces with Oculus and Audi, the guys set up the stand and prepared to showcase the Audi VR experience to the endless crowd of VR enthusiasts waiting to enter the San Jose McEnery Convention Center for Oculus Connect 4.

Visitors were treated to the newest addition to the Audi VR experience: our volumetric video environment of Bamburgh beach. After pulling on the Oculus headset, they were transported to a stunning dynamic beach setting in the shadow of Bamburgh castle where they could configure their chosen Audi to their heart's content.

The team had their hands full both days as an endless stream of visitors came to see for themselves why the Audi VR experience has been causing such a buzz. Their reactions were incredible; it's always nice to hear your experience is the best at the event!

Quite a good few days then! Plenty for Chris to think about on his 12-hour flight back to Newcastle.
