What is it like to work at ZeroLight?

Our studio base is at Live Works, an award-winning building in the heart of Newcastle’s Quayside.  We have lots of great perks within the studio including a high spec coffee machine, hot & soft drinks, beer fridge, fruit delivery, well stocked chocolate and snack drawers with table tennis, pool and great views in our employee area - the terrace.  

We believe that a mix of studio and home working is the best fit for ZeroLight, allowing us to be both collaborative and have the focus needed to get things done. 

This hybrid working approach allows employees to choose whether to work from their home office or in the studio for their everyday work. There are certain meetings, workshops and groups that your Line Manager will ask you attend each week and you’ll decide yourself where you work best for focussed time. 

Due to the nature of this role, you’ll be required to work onsite 3x days per week.

This role

As Information Security Officer, you will join our IT Team, reporting into our Executive Director - IT & Infrastructure. 

You’ll be working within an IT team of six employees, covering IT Support, Op’s Support & IT System Engineers. This is a close knit team that places high quality service, security and skills development at the forefront of everything they do. 

As Information Security Officer your goal within the team will be to ensure security compliance across all aspects of the business. 

You will develop and improve our processes and policies, whilst working with key stakeholders to drive the importance of data security, ensuring that we retain our security accreditations for automotive clients such as Lucid Motors, VW & Mitsubishi.

Your responsibilities
  • Management of Information Security compliance
  • Review and develop all security related policies and procedures
  • Regular internal and external auditing
  • Security risk assessment
  • Delivering security awareness training
  • Following and contributing to business continuity & disaster recovery procedures
  • Vulnerability management
  • Incident response
What a typical day looks like
  • Proactively reviewing resources for potential risks and threats to the business, whilst working closely with the IT to ensure preventive measures are in place.
  • Investigating any non-conformance, and ensuring the correct procedures are being followed.
  • Hosting security sessions with cross-functional teams
  • Continuous review, and development of all security related policies and procedures.
What you’ll need
  • Strong organisation skills
  • At least 1 years experience in a similar role
  • Good knowledge of GDPR
  • Experience with ISO27001
