Put simply, IAA is massive. It attracts all the biggest names in the automotive industry and beyond, so you have to really put on a show to stand out from the crowd. Luckily, that's never been a problem for our team, and we were armed with something special, too: a demo of our new volumetric video beach environment.
We weren't alone: representatives from Audi and Oculus joined us on Facebook's stand in the New Mobility World Hall, where we showcased the new addition to the already ground-breaking Audi VR experience unveiled earlier this year at Vision Summit. This comes after Audi announced the experience is set to be installed in dealerships around the world, naming Oculus as their official hardware partner for the project.
Across our two demo stations at the stand, visitors were able to configure all 53 vehicles in the Audi range - including the legendary Silver Arrow. The demo proved to be a huge success, with the Facebook stand welcoming over 1000 visitors a day during the event.
Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg even dropped by, chatting to the team and giving the experience a try for herself!
